Thursday update

Well, I thought I'd make my goal today because I finished most of an article for Pacific Coast Journal, but I have to wait for someone to call me back so I can interview him before I can finish. I was rather productive today: wrote 4 for Demand Studios and spent a little over 2 hours and finished the thing for EZ and sent it to him. I edited a chapter of the book for SK. I think I may actually make less this week than every week during July! Oh well, I'll get there...

Earnings: $95

Assignment update:
1 for EZ (next installment, due 8/8): draft done and sent
4 press releases for PB (soon): second draft of #1 and #2 sent (waiting for her)
7 for Demand Studios (8/11): 6 done
3 for Demand Studios (8/12): done
4 for Demand Studios (8/13): done
1 for Demand Studios (8/14): not started
4 for Horseman's News/Pacific Coast Journal (8/14): Research started on 2, 1 nearly done
1 for Back Country Horsemen (due 8/15): Greg started the research for me
Gold Medal article (whenever): started lining up interviews
"winds of change" short story contest on Accentuate Writers (due 8/20): not started
more queries! two sent this month

I was having lunch with a girlfriend and showing off my iPhone, so I Googled her name. She had just started a food blog but her listing didn’t immediately appear. Then I Googled my name. There were some relevant links, but the first listing was your blog. We have the same name – Walker being my maiden name – and, professionally, I hyphenate with my married name, which is used often in your blog. I decided to take a read…and I noticed we have a few other things in common, the most surprising being our career paths. On August 1, 2008, you quit your longtime job to be a fulltime freelance writer. On August 1, 2007, I did the same. (I wrote for newspapers for several years before switching to PR. It took nearly 10 years to realize how much I hate PR.) Writing fulltime was something I always had dreamed of … and finally, my thoughts became things! I’ve never regretted my choice. It sounds as if you love your new path as much as I do mine. I enjoy your blog but would love to see links to some of the published work you reference!
Good luck!

What a funny coincidence! It always creeps me out a little bit when I see someone else with the same name...and there are several authors by the name of Jennifer Walker, it seems!

I do have links to my work on my other blog at www.jenniferlwalker.blogspot.com, but maybe I should put them here, too! Thank you so much for reading and commenting!
